CHARSADDA: An awareness walk was organized in Charsadda to highlight preventive measures against dengue, with students and scouts of Government High School Garhi Hameed Gul actively participating.
The walk, led by Principal Muhammad Shoaib and Deputy District Education Officer (DDEO) Shams-ul-Islam, started from Charsadda Bazaar. Under the supervision of Scouts Team In-charge Muhammad Ali Arif, pamphlets were distributed among shopkeepers and traders, spreading information on how to protect against dengue.
Students carried placards inscribed with precautionary measures and raised awareness among the public. Participants of the walk urged citizens to adopt safety practices to control the spread of dengue.
Speaking on the occasion, DDEO Shams-ul-Islam stressed that precautionary measures are the only effective way to combat dengue. He added that awareness campaigns are being carried out across the district through school students.
He further advised the public to remain vigilant against stagnant water and keep their surroundings clean to prevent the breeding of mosquitoes that cause dengue.
