Bajaur : The ongoing campaign against illegal travel agents in Bajaur has been further intensified. On the special directives of District Police Officer (DPO) Bajaur, Waqas Rafiq, police have launched a crackdown in various areas and started inspecting the offices of travel agencies.
According to police sources, under the leadership of Circle DSP Khar Abdul Aziz and SHO Loi Sam Gulzada, surprise raids were conducted on several travel agency offices located in Inayat Kallay Bazaar. During the operation, legal documents of the travel agencies, including registration certificates, licenses, and permits, were thoroughly checked.
Travel agencies found without valid and authorized documents issued by the relevant departments were strictly directed to immediately fulfill legal requirements. Police warned that in case of non-compliance, legal action would be initiated under the Pakistan Penal Code, the Immigration Ordinance 1979, and the Travel Agencies Act.
Speaking on the occasion, DPO Bajaur Waqas Rafiq stated that illegal travel agents often deceive innocent citizens in the name of overseas employment and travel facilities, which is a serious and punishable offense. He emphasized that operating a travel agency without a valid license is a criminal offense, punishable by fines, arrests, and sealing of offices.
The DPO further added that the protection of the lives, property, and economic interests of the public is the police’s top priority, and indiscriminate action against violators of the law will continue.
