Fugitive Criminals to Be Brought Back, Warns Police Chief

PESHAWAR: Chief Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Peshawar Dr. Mian Saeed has said that due to the prayers and cooperation of the citizens, an atmosphere of peace and tranquility has been established in Peshawar, adding that the main accused involved in criminal activities, land grabbing and the operation of three gangs will be brought to justice.
Talking to the media at the Peshawar Press Club on Friday, the CCPO made it clear that oppression, lawlessness and corruption would not be tolerated under any circumstances. On the occasion, he also congratulated the President of the Peshawar Press Club and other members of the newly elected cabinet.
Dr. Mian Saeed said that criminals who have fled abroad would be brought back to Pakistan at all costs and punished according to the law. He emphasized that the illegal occupation of citizens’ properties would not be tolerated and that indiscriminate action was underway against land grabbers and occupation groups.
He stated that anyone found involved in criminal activities would be dealt with strictly in accordance with the law. To improve public service delivery and strengthen trust between the police and citizens, he said special workshops would be organized at the police station level to promote better behavior and professionalism among police officials.
The CCPO further informed that operations against three major gang leaders were in progress and that their absconding accomplices would soon be apprehended and made to face the law. He reiterated that maintaining peace and tranquility in Peshawar remained the top priority of the police, and that all available resources were being utilized to ensure lasting security in the city.
