CECOS University Achieves Highest HEC Quality Assurance Score Among Private Universities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa -

Peshawar, CECOS University of IT & Emerging Sciences, Peshawar, has achieved a major milestone by securing a score of 93.26 under the HEC Quality Assurance (Yearly Progress Review – YPR 2023–24), emerging as the highest-scoring private sector university in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. This outstanding achievement places CECOS University at the top position among private universities in KP and among the Top 3 Private Sector Universities nationwide.
According to the HEC QAA results (YPR 2023–24), the Top 3 Private Sector Universities are:
* CECOS University of IT & Emerging Sciences — 93.26
* Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute of Engineering Sciences & Technology — 90.94
* Iqra National University, Peshawar — 89.51
This recognition was highlighted during the Three-Day Progress Review Meeting organized by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) Quality Assurance Agency (QAA) in collaboration with CECOS University, under the theme “Together for Quality Excellence: Leadership Engagement for Transforming QA Systems in Pakistan.” The event was attended by Vice Chancellors, Rectors, Directors, and Directors QECs from more than 40 public and private sector universities across Pakistan.
The opening ceremony featured welcome and opening remarks by Prof. Dr. Muhammad Mohsin Khan, Vice Chancellor, CECOS University, who emphasized the importance of institutional commitment, a strong quality culture, and continuous improvement in higher education.
Mr. Nasir Shah, Director General, Quality Assurance, HEC Islamabad, delivered key remarks highlighting HEC’s vision for accountability and enhancement through robust quality assurance mechanisms, followed by an interactive session by Mr. Muhammad Raza, Deputy Director, QA HEC Islamabad, focusing on best practices and future directions in QA systems.
The ceremony was honored by the presence of Prof. Dr. Zia Ul Haq, Executive Director HEC and Vice Chancellor KMU Peshawar, as Guest of Honor, who delivered the closing remarks, while Dr. Muhammad Israr, Secretary Higher Education, Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, attended as Chief Guest and shared insights on aligning provincial and national higher education quality goals.
