Dera Ismail Khan: A meeting of the Central Traders Association was held under the chairmanship of President Sohail Ahmed Azmi at the residence of Chairman Chaudhry Javed Akhtar during a dinner hosted in his honor. The meeting was attended by senior leaders of the association along with Electronics Association President Ismail Awan and General Secretary Malik Khalid, who were warmly welcomed with garlands.
The business community vowed to work together for the development of D.I. Khan and resolution of public and traders’ issues. The meeting demanded an end to prolonged load shedding, immediate repair of the collapsed Dera Darya Khan bridge, and reduction of toll tax to Punjab’s level while also addressing harassment faced by traders at toll plazas.
Traders further urged speedy completion of the under-construction flyover project and expressed concern over the use of poor-quality materials and delays in Grid Road and Dial Road construction, demanding corrective action from the authorities.
At the end, the provincial government was thanked for providing a special grant to Gomal University to resolve pensioners’ issues.
