KOHAT: Commissioner Kohat Division Syed Motasim Billah Shah paid a surprise visit to the Joint Check Post at Khushal Garh, Kohat, to assess the staff performance, discipline and overall administrative arrangements.
During the inspection, the commissioner reviewed the on-duty presence of officials from various departments, including representatives of the Agriculture Department, and received a detailed briefing on operational procedures. He inspected entry points at the check post and examined attendance registers to ensure punctuality and proper discharge of official duties.
The commissioner directed the concerned officers to perform their responsibilities with honesty, vigilance and professionalism, stressing strict compliance with government rules and regulations. He said effective monitoring at check posts plays a vital role in maintaining discipline and safeguarding the public interest.
Expressing satisfaction over the overall arrangements, the commissioner directed the officials to continue regular monitoring and inspection to further improve efficiency.
Likewise, in line with orders of the Peshawar High Court, Commissioner Shah, in his capacity as focal person, accompanied by NHA North Member Amjad Ali Khan and NHA General Manager Ihtesham, visited the Indus Highway. The visit focused on reviewing the ongoing construction work, traffic flow management and measures to curb the movement of overloaded vehicles.
The commissioner inspected various locations along the Kohat–Karak section of the highway, made on-the-spot decisions and issued clear instructions to relevant authorities to ensure smooth traffic flow, public safety and full compliance with legal requirements.
