Cricket Talent Hunt Program kicks off

PESHAWAR: The one-week cricket talent hunt program began at Malik International Cricket Academy with grand celebrations of Pakistan’s Independence Day. The special guests of the inaugural ceremony were Additional Assistant Commissioner (AAC) Matni, Tehsildar Matni, and Pakistan’s Test cricketer Sajid Khan. The ceremony began with the cutting of a special cake prepared in the shape of the Pakistani flag, which was cut jointly by the special guests. To encourage the young cricketers, AAC Matni announced free refreshments for the entire training session, while Tehsildar Matni announced to provide three boxes of hard balls for the players. Pakistan Cricket Board Test cricketer Sajid Khan appreciated the enthusiasm and potential of the participants and encouraged them to work harder for high performance in the game. All the distinguished guests thanked the chief organizer of the program, Malik Farman, who in his address thanked all the guests, coaches and players and emphasized that such programs are very important for nurturing cricket talent in the area. The program, which is being conducted under the supervision of PCB certified coaches, will be full of training activities including batting, bowling, fielding and practical demonstrations for a week and will conclude with a prize and certificate distribution ceremony on August 20.
