GADANI: The Collectorate of Customs Enforcement Gadani has intensified its anti-smuggling drive across the coastal belt and RCD Highway, carrying out a series of high-impact operations over the past week. Coordinated actions by field formations in Ormara, Khurkhera, and the Special Smuggling Prevention Squad have resulted in substantial seizures of narcotics, contraband goods, smuggled agricultural produce, and illicit Iranian POL.

During the week, Customs Gadani seized 188 kg of hashish from a container at the Khurkhera check post, Winder. An FIR has been lodged, and further legal proceedings are underway. In another action at the same check post, a passenger bus carrying smuggled goods valued at PKR 70 million was intercepted and seized.

An intelligence-based operation by the Special Smuggling Prevention Squad led to the seizure of four refrigerated containers (reefers) transporting approximately 76 tons of smuggled pomegranates. The consignment was auctioned, depositing around PKR 25 million into the national exchequer.

Further operations along the coastal belt resulted in the interception of two passenger buses carrying 14,000 liters of smuggled Iranian POL in Ormara. Additionally, during a raid at a godown in Bawani, Hub, 10,650 liters of smuggled Iranian diesel were recovered. Another major seizure valued at PKR 24 million involved a Hino truck transporting smuggled poppy seeds, intercepted at FEU Khuzdar.

The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) remains steadfast in its commitment to eradicating smuggling. These successful operations underscore FBR’s dedication to enforcing Pakistan Customs regulations, safeguarding legitimate trade, and strengthening the nation’s economic security.
