DC Fahim Takes Steps to Revitalize Historic Mincipal Library Bannu for present & Future Generations

BANNU: Under the good governance policy of the provincial government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and
to provide a conducive learning environment for the new generation, Deputy Commissioner Bannu, Muhammad Fahim, has initiated a comprehensive renovation plan for the Municipal Public Library, a century-old institution that has been a beacon of knowledge in the region.

It is worth mentioning that the Municipal public library, was established in 1905 as Queen Victoria Library, has been in a state of disrepair for years, but the recent visit by the Deputy Commissioner has brought new hope for its revival. Accompanied by senior officials, including Assistant Commissioner Wazir Sub division, Dr. Ishtiaq Ahmad, and Tehsil Municipal Officer Yousaf Khan, Muhammad Fahim reviewed the renovation plan and directed the authorities to expedite the work.
The Deputy Commissioner emphasized that a book-friendly environment is essential for the intellectual growth of the younger generation, and the renovation of the Municipal library is crucial to achieving this goal. “We are committed to preserving our cultural heritage and providing modern facilities to our students and citizens. M.Fahim said that with its rich history and cultural significance, the Municipal Public Library Bannu has the potential to become a hub of learning and intellectual inquiry in the region. The initiative is expected to not only restore the library to its former glory but also provide a platform for the community to come together and engage in meaningful discussions and activities.
He further added that renovation plan is expected to be completed within a stipulated timeframe, and the library is likely to become a vibrant center of learning, equipped with modern facilities and resources.
