Delay in Salary Payments Unacceptable, Secretariat Coordination Council Announces Protest

Staff Reporter

Peshawar:
The Secretariat Coordination Council has expressed serious concern over the continued delay in the payment of salaries to government employees, stating that the failure of various banks to ensure timely salary disbursement for several months is unacceptable.

According to the Council, the Secretariat Coordination Council has always served as a bridge between government employees and the authorities, effectively conveying employees’ legitimate issues to senior officials. The issue of delayed salaries has also been repeatedly brought to the attention of relevant authorities, including the State Bank, but no permanent solution has yet been provided.

The statement said that continuous complaints have been received from Secretariat employees since the first of the month, leaving employees under severe mental stress and financial hardship, and that the situation has now crossed the limits of tolerance.

In this context, the Secretariat Coordination Council has announced that an emergency press conference will be held on Monday at 10:30 a.m. in front of the banks. During the press conference, the bank management and the AG Office will be questioned about why salaries are delayed every month and who bears the actual responsibility for these delays.

The Council has demanded that the banks and the AG Office present an immediate, clear, and permanent solution to this issue so that government employees can be relieved of further mental and financial difficulties.
