Dera Ismail Khan: The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) and district police carried out a successful operation in Wanda Budh, Paharpur area of Dera Ismail Khan, killing a most-wanted terrorist commander, Ahmad son of Gul Deen.
According to sources, the operation was launched after receiving credible intelligence about the presence of terrorists in the area. Security forces cordoned off the locality and conducted a targeted action, resulting in the killing of the wanted militant.
The deceased terrorist, Ahmad, belonged to the Dotani tribe of Panyala (Panj Tara) and was wanted in multiple serious cases. Police officials confirmed that he was directly involved in the attack that led to the martyrdom of SHO Panyala Faheem Mumtaz along with seven other police personnel, and the injury of DSP Paharpur Hafiz Muhammad Adnan.
Authorities stated that Ahmad had also been identified in images circulated on social media by terrorists following the attack.
Officials described his elimination as a significant milestone in efforts to restore peace in the region and in the ongoing fight against terrorism.
Inspector General of Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Zulfiqar Hameed, praised the CTD and district police personnel for the successful operation and announced rewards for the team.
