Jhelum (Makhdoom Hussain Chaudhary) District Police Mandi Bahauddin, in collaboration with the Sustainable Social Development Organization (SSDO), organized an awareness walk to highlight the dangers of human smuggling, visa fraud, and illegal migration, with special focus on educating the public and youth about safe and lawful travel.

The awareness walk was attended by police officials, district administration representatives, members of civil society, youth volunteers, social activists, and a large number of citizens. Participants displayed banners and placards carrying messages promoting human dignity, rejecting modern slavery, and calling for an end to human smuggling.

During the event, the public was informed that individuals involved in fake visas and illegal migration exploit innocent citizens through deceptive practices. Citizens were advised to immediately report any suspicious activity related to human smuggling to Police Helpline 15 or FIA Helpline 051-111-345-786 for prompt action.

District Police Officer Syed Abdul Raheem Shirazi stated that District Police Mandi Bahauddin is fully committed to taking strict and immediate action against all forms of human smuggling and human trafficking. He emphasized that such criminal activities seriously violate human dignity and damage the country’s image, and urged citizens to play their role by reporting such crimes without delay.

Executive Director SSDO Syed Kausar Abbas highlighted that human smuggling and illegal migration are serious humanitarian issues that particularly affect vulnerable communities. He stressed that fake agents, false job offers, and fraudulent travel documents trap young people, and that strong coordination between law enforcement agencies, civil society, and the public is essential to eliminate this menace.

Deputy Commissioner Mandi Bahaudin Adeel Haider stated that continuous legal action is being taken against human smuggling networks; however, public awareness and cooperation are vital to fully eradicate this crime. Special emphasis during the walk was placed on protecting women and children from trafficking, forced labor, and exploitation, while advising citizens that legal travel is the only safe option.

The event concluded with a commitment by District Police Mandi Bahauddin and SSDO to continue joint awareness efforts in the future to promote safe and legal migration and safeguard human dignity.
