Dr Abdul Basit defends PhD dissertation in English

PESHAWAR: Research Scholar Abdul Basit in the Department of English at Qurtuba University of Science & Information Technology, Peshawar Campus, has successfully defended his PhD dissertation.

His research work, titled “Ecocritical Analysis: A Comparative Study of Imbolo Mbue’s How Beautiful We Were and Helon Habila’s Oil on Water,” was formally evaluated by eminent scholars in the field. The dissertation was examined by Dr. Rabiah Rustam, Associate Professor, Department of Humanities, COMSATS University Islamabad (Abbottabad Campus), who served as the External Examiner, and Dr. Hafiz Javed ur Rehman from the Department of English Linguistics and Literature, Qurtuba University, Peshawar Campus, as the Internal Examiner.

The research was conducted under the supervision of Dr. Zhair Jang Khattak, while Dr. Gulzar Ahmad acted as Co-Supervisor. The examiners expressed satisfaction with the quality, originality, and scholarly contribution of the research.

On the occasion, Abdul Basit expressed his profound gratitude to Almighty Allah for the successful completion of his academic journey. He also acknowledged the continuous guidance and support of his supervisors and teachers, and attributed his success to the prayers and encouragement of his parents.

Faculty members of the university congratulated the scholar and termed his achievement a positive addition to literary and environmental studies, wishing him continued success in his future academic and professional endeavors.
