UPPER DIR:
The employees of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto University Sheringal, under the banner of the University Employees Union, have been on protest for the past two weeks, demanding their rights. The Vice Chancellor, Dr. Muhammad Shahab, had made promises in the presence of Assistant Commissioner Sheringl, Fayaz Khan, and MPA Malik Gul Ibrahim, but he has reneged on those promises.
The Joint Action Committee, led by Dr. Riaz Ahmad, has stated that the employees can no longer trust the Vice Chancellor. Despite repeated negotiations by local leaders, political representatives, and district administration officials, the Vice Chancellor has failed to fulfill his promises and has instead delayed addressing the employees’ legitimate demands.
The employees have vowed to continue their protest until their demands are met. The Massey Welfare Association’s President, Khurram Murad, emphasized that the employees have always approached the Vice Chancellor with a willingness to resolve issues amicably, but the Vice Chancellor has shown no willingness to address their concerns.
The employees have decided to expand the scope of their protest and will halt all activities at the university until their demands are met. They will determine their future course of action and proceed accordingly. The protest will continue until the employees’ legitimate demands are fulfilled.
