PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control Department has foiled an attempt to smuggle narcotics and recovered a substantial quantity of charas during an intelligence-based operation.
In pursuance of the provincial government’s zero-tolerance policy against narcotics and under the directives of Minister for Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control Syed Fakhar Jehan, a team of the Bureau of Intelligence and Investigation of the Excise Department conducted an operation near Takhta Baig Check Post on a tip-off.The operation was carried out under the supervision of Provincial In-charge Saud Khan Gandapur and Excise and Taxation Officer (Narcotics Control) Majid Khan.
During the operation, Inspector Muazzam Jan Khan and his team searched vehicle number 1092, which led to the recovery of 20,400 grams of charas. The Excise Department has registered a case at the Excise Police Station Khyber and further investigation is underway.
