Pak International Medical College proudly celebrates a remarkable international achievement in research as its faculty Research team comprising of Dr. Muhammad Awais, Dr. Jibran Ikram, Dr. Ayesha Zahid and Dr. Zahid Aslam Awan have earned the Paul Dudley White International Scholar Award. Dr Paul Dudley white – widely considered one of the founders of modern cardiology – was a champion of preventive cardiology and global cardiovascular outreach. Recognizing Pakistani work with an award bearing his name underscores the growing credibility of our research in global scientific literature This scientific research was conducted at the Cath Lab of the Cardiology Department of Pak International Medical College, Peshawar, founded by Dr. Muhammad Tariq Safi.
This research was presented at the American Heart Association (AHA) Scientific Sessions in New Orleans, USA. The research evaluated a unique electrophysiological marker known as Repetitive Ventricular Response (RVR) during radiofrequency ablation for left posterior fascicular ventricular tachycardia (LPF-VT), a type of arrhythmia often affecting young, otherwise healthy individuals. Selection for the award is based solely on scientific merit, placing the team’s innovative research among the most impactful cardiovascular contributions worldwide. Pak International Medical College congratulates Dr. Awan and the entire research team on this outstanding international honor.
