Governor and Opposition Leader Vow Joint Efforts for Flood Relief and Resettlement

PESHAWAR: Opposition Leader Dr. Ibad held an important meeting with Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi at the Governor House, Peshawar, to review the recent flood situation in the province and discuss comprehensive strategies for providing assistance to the affected communities.

During the meeting, the two leaders exchanged views on the ongoing relief operations, provision of immediate assistance to the flood victims, and long-term plans for their resettlement. Governor Kundi commended the significant role played by political parties and social organizations in extending help to the affected population during these challenging times.

He emphasized that the scale of the disaster demands a unified response from all political stakeholders, stating that “only through joint efforts can we ensure the early recovery and sustainable rehabilitation of the flood victims.”

Both leaders expressed their commitment to working in close coordination with the federal government to mobilize resources and implement effective measures aimed at the resettlement of displaced families. They also stressed the importance of developing preventive strategies to mitigate the impact of future natural disasters, including improved infrastructure, better disaster management planning, and community-level preparedness.

The meeting concluded with a joint resolve to strengthen coordination between government institutions, political parties, and social organizations to provide timely relief, restore livelihoods, and rebuild the affected areas in a more resilient and sustainable manner.
