KOHAT: A grand Seerat-un-Nabi (PBUH) Conference was held at the District Council Hall KDA Kohat under the chairmanship of the Commissioner Kohat Division, Syed Motasim Billah Shah, as part of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Government’s “Ashra Rahmatul-lilAalameen (PBUH)” Celebrations. Deputy Commissioner Kohat Rahimullah Mehsud, Pir Habibullah Shah of Ghamkol Sharif, Additional Deputy Commissioner (G) Hamid Iqbal, assistant commissioners, District Khatib Mufti Shafiullah, officials of the Education department, students from public and private institutions and seminaries, religious scholars, ulema and other dignitaries attended the event in large numbers. Qirat and Naat competitions were held among the students, with prizes distributed to those who performed exceptionally. Speakers highlighted that the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) came as a mercy for all mankind and that his life exemplifies brotherhood, equality, justice, prosperity and peace. They stressed the need to acquaint the younger generation with the Holy Prophet’s (PBUH) teachings through more such events. Commissioner Kohat said that following the Holy Prophet’s (PBUH) example leads to success in this world and the hereafter adding that Islam is a religion of peace, brotherhood, and justice, with no space for terrorism or injustice. Deputy Commissioner Kohat said that the life of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) provides solutions to contemporary challenges and can ensure social harmony and development. At the end, participants pledged to model their lives on the Holy Prophet’s (PBUH) teachings. Successful students at the district level will now compete at the divisional stage, alongside winners from Hangu, Karak, Orakzai and Kurram districts. Meanwhile, the government buildings, offices, main bazaars and entry and the exit points of the city have been decorated and illuminated on this Holy occasion, in line with the provincial government directions.
