PESHAWAR: The Italian Archaeological Mission in Pakistan has officially launched a new initiative titled ‘Khyber Path’, funded by the Government of Italy in collaboration with the Directorate General of Archaeology and Museums, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The project aims to excavate, conserve, and develop eight new archaeological sites across the Swat, Malakand, Mardan, and Haripur regions. In addition to fieldwork, Khyber Path will provide specialized training to the staff of KP’s Directorate of Archaeology and Museums to enhance their expertise in conservation techniques, excavation methods, and site management.
This collaboration marks another milestone in the long-standing partnership between Italy and Pakistan in the field of archaeology and heritage preservation, further strengthening efforts to protect and promote the rich cultural legacy of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
