TIMES REPORT

DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Jamaat-e-Islami District Ameer Manzar Masood Khattak has said that terrorism has surged across the province, leaving citizens feeling increasingly insecure, adding that even security forces are not safe.

He expressed these views while addressing an Iftar dinner hosted in honor of journalists at a local restaurant under the banner of Jamaat-e-Islami.

He further stated that corruption has gripped the entire province, including Dera Ismail Khan, alleging that the current government has surpassed previous administrations in misgovernance. He criticized the delay in local government elections, saying elected representatives completed their tenure without adequate powers or funds.

Manzar Masood Khattak demanded that local government elections be held on time in accordance with the Constitution, warning that otherwise a protest movement would be launched against the provincial government after Eid al-Fitr.

On the occasion, Tehsil Ameer Zahid Mohibullah Advocate highlighted civic issues in the district, stating that ongoing construction and poor planning have caused severe inconvenience to the public. He noted that lack of proper road maintenance and dust control has led to health problems, including respiratory and throat diseases.

He urged authorities to curb corruption in development projects and take immediate steps to resolve public grievances.
