Additional Inspector General of Police Karachi, Azad Khan, has reiterated that serving the public remains the primary mission of the Sindh Police, stressing the adoption of modern technology, merit-based investigations and institutional reforms to meet public expectations.
Addressing police officers and personnel, the newly appointed police chief said that Sindh Police is the identity of the province and its history is marked by the sacrifices of martyrs, to whom he paid glowing tribute. He said that improving police stations and making them public-friendly is his top priority to ensure easier access for citizens.
He directed indiscriminate action against street crime, organized criminal elements, narcotics and other serious offenses, emphasizing that strengthening the investigation system is essential. He stated that investigations on merit and the use of the latest technology are the need of the time.
The Police Chief announced zero tolerance for any nexus with criminals, adding that accountability and performance evaluation of officers and personnel would be strictly enforced. He also stressed the welfare of police personnel, announcing measures to improve police lines and enhance internal coordination. He urged officers and personnel to perform their duties with honesty, professionalism and dedication to restore and strengthen public trust in the police.
