Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Lawyer Muhammad Nasir Ghalzai Receives International Honor in Oxford

Peshawar: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan, achieved another international distinction as renowned lawyer Advocate Muhammad Nasir Ghalzai was honored with a prestigious international award at a dignified ceremony held in the city of Oxford, United Kingdom. The award was conferred in recognition of his outstanding public welfare–oriented and reformative legal services.

The international honor was presented during a ceremony held at Oxford’s historic academic institution by the Chief Prosecutor of Ukraine. The award acknowledged Advocate Muhammad Nasir Ghalzai’s effective legal and social struggle to ensure the inclusion of thalassemia and HIV blood tests in the marriage contract, an initiative widely regarded as a significant step toward building a healthy society and safeguarding future generations.

International legal experts, diplomatic figures, and distinguished guests attending the ceremony termed this initiative a role model for Pakistan and the global community, highlighting its importance for public health and social welfare.

On this occasion, Advocate Muhammad Nasir Ghalzai dedicated the award to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Bar Council, the High Court Bar Association, and district bar associations. He said the objective was to encourage the legal community, particularly young lawyers, to actively contribute to public service, legal reforms, and efforts to project a positive image of Pakistan at the international level.

He further stated that the honor was not a personal achievement but a source of pride for the entire legal fraternity of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Pakistan, adding that he would continue his efforts for the supremacy of law, protection of public health, and promotion of international legal cooperation.
