KMU Hosts Mega KP Job Fair 2025, Connecting Youth with Leading Employers

PESHAWAR: Khyber Medical University (KMU) Peshawar successfully organized the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Job Fair 2025, a major employment initiative aimed at connecting students and graduates with top public and private sector employers. The event was inaugurated by Provincial Health Minister Khaliq ur Rahman, alongside Prof. Dr. Zia ul Haq, Executive Director Higher Education Commission (HEC) Islamabad and Vice Chancellor KMU.

The job fair attracted a large number of students, faculty members, policymakers, healthcare stakeholders, and representatives from national and multinational organizations. It served as a unique platform for KMU graduates to interact directly with employers from government bodies, industries, hospitals, clinics, pharmaceutical companies, and recruitment agencies.

Speaking at the inaugural ceremony, Health Minister Khaliq ur Rahman praised KMU’s efforts, stating that the provincial government is committed to facilitating employment opportunities for youth at their doorstep. He highlighted that similar job fairs have already been organized at PAF-IAST Haripur and UET Peshawar, with KMU hosting the third major event in the series. He emphasized the wide career prospects in the medical sector, including opportunities for doctors, dentists, nurses, physiotherapists, paramedics, optometrists, public health specialists, psychologists, audiologists, and occupational therapists.

Prof. Dr. Zia ul Haq, ED HEC and Vice Chancellor KMU, said that KMU is committed not only to quality education and research but also to preparing students for evolving workforce needs. He noted that initiatives like the job fair significantly contribute to enhancing students’ skills, career planning, and professional readiness.

Guest of Honor Capt. (R) Kamran Afridi, Secretary Higher Education Department KP, said the series of job fairs was launched on a pilot basis under the recommendations of the Higher Education Task Force. He expressed satisfaction with the outcomes and announced that the initiative will be expanded to all universities across KP from next year. He added that the objective is to provide dignified employment pathways while encouraging universities to offer market-driven academic programs. He also distributed on-the-spot job offer letters to selected candidates.

The KMU Job Fair 2025 featured over 100 stalls across four sectors: Education, Industries, Hospitals & Clinics, and the Pharmaceutical Sector. Participating organizations conducted on-spot interviews, offered internships and employment opportunities, and provided professional guidance. The event also included career counseling sessions, mentoring, and CV development workshops, which were widely appreciated.

Students and employer organizations termed the event highly beneficial and expressed hope that the initiative would continue, contributing to a skilled workforce and expanding employment opportunities across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
