In his address, Aftab Alam Advocate said that the recruitment of stenographers is not merely the beginning of a job but the assumption of a major national responsibility. He said that the Establishment Department serves as the backbone of the provincial government, and its decisions directly influence the entire administrative structure. He added that in the modern era, the role of stenographers is not confined to taking notes; rather, through fast and accurate file work, they play a key role in the timely implementation of government decisions.
He further stated that no system can be strengthened without merit and transparency, which is why the government has introduced legal reforms and regulations to further improve the performance of the Educational Testing & Evaluation Agency (ETEA) and the KP Public Service Commission. He said that the recruitment process has eliminated favoritism and corruption so that only competent, talented, and hardworking youth can become part of the system.
Speaking at the ceremony, Secretary Establishment Syed Zulfiqar Ali Shah said that the appointment of stenographers was a challenging process, during which interviews of nearly 500 candidates were conducted with great scrutiny. He emphasized that the Establishment Department ensured complete transparency, giving merit the highest priority. He further remarked that recruitment through favoritism and corruption weakens the administrative structure, which is why upholding merit has been their top priority.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, the Law Minister distributed appointment letters among the newly appointed stenographers and prayed for their bright future with best wishes.
