PESHAWAR: An important meeting regarding the upcoming launch of a unique and specialized number plates scheme in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was held on Thursday under the chairmanship of Provincial Minister for Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control, Syed Fakhar Jahan, at the Directorate General of Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control, Peshawar.
The meeting was attended by Secretary Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control Khalid Ilyas, concerned directors, and officers of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Technology Board (KPITB).
During the meeting, officials of the KPITB briefed the provincial minister on the progress made so far in ensuring the availability of online facilities aimed at the early launch of this innovative initiative of the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The issuance of specialized and unique number plates is being introduced under the idea of Provincial Minister Syed Fakhar Jahan. Following the successful introduction of personalized number plates, this initiative marks the second major and distinctive project of the provincial government being implemented through the Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control Department.
Under this scheme, interested vehicle owners and consumers will be able to obtain number plates for both new and existing vehicles featuring special, unique names and special identity-based number plates, in line with their personal preferences.
