KP Qualify for Team Event Semi-Finals in National Table Tennis Championship

PESHAWAR: Thrilling matches continue in the Men’s and Women’s Team Events of the National Table Tennis Championship, with teams delivering impressive performances to secure victories.
On this occasion, Advisor to the Chief Minister on Sports, Taj Muhammad Khan Tarand, attended as the chief guest. He was accompanied by Director General Sports KP Tashfeen Haider, Secretary of the Pakistan Table Tennis Federation Ijaz Ali, Tournament Director Kifayatullah Khan, and other notable officials.
The championship is being organized at the PSB Coaching Center, Peshawar Sports Complex, under the collaboration of the Directorate of Sports Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan Table Tennis Federation, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Table Tennis Association.
In the Men’s Team Event quarter-final, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) delivered a dominant performance, defeating the Police team 3-0 to qualify for the semi-finals. In the first match, KP’s Attman beat Police player Usama 3-1. Fahad Khawaja then defeated Haleem 3-1, while Areeb sealed the victory by overcoming Surkhab 3-1 in the final match, ensuring KP’s place in the semi-finals with a clear 3-0 margin.
In another match, Police defeated ASF 3-0. Owais Yaqoob beat Usama Nawaz (11-8, 11-3, 11-2), Aleem overcame Hamza (11-3, 11-2, 11-6), and Qamar defeated Shafiullah (11-6, 11-5, 11-5).
In the Women’s Team Event, Police beat KPM 3-0. Tayyaba defeated Sidra (11-2, 11-5, 11-8), Minahil beat Iman (11-5, 11-4, 11-8), and Kainat overcame Aleena (11-4, 11-3, 11-5).
In another women’s match, Balochistan defeated ASF 3-0. Fiza beat Iqra, Nazia defeated Saba (11-9, 11-7, 11-9), and Shahida secured victory against Hina Shariq (11-9, 12-10, 11-4).
Teams from across the country are participating in the championship, providing spectators with exciting and competitive table tennis action.
