PESHAWAR: A meeting of prominent scholars of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was held under the auspices of the Provincial Intelligence Fusion and Threat Assessment Center (PIFTAC) to discuss the role of scholars in preventing and countering extremism in society.
The session focused on strategies for countering violent extremism and establishing a peaceful society. Maulana Ehsan-ul-Haq, Maulana Hussain Ahmed, Maulana Merajuddin Sarkani, Allama Abid Hussain Shakeri, and Maulana Obaid Sheikh participated in the discussions.
Participants deliberated on madrassa registration, improving their organizational system, and fostering collaboration with formal educational institutions, colleges, and universities. They emphasized the importance of dialogue between madrassas and other educational and government institutions, highlighting the need to combine contemporary education with religious teachings.
The scholars reaffirmed their categorical condemnation of all forms of violence and terrorism, stressing that dialogue and education are the most effective tools to address social challenges and promote peace.
