DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi has said that lawyers have played a pivotal role in the democratic development of Pakistan, adding that the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has always stood by the legal community.
He expressed these views while addressing a ceremony held for the distribution of grant cheques amounting to Rs. 4.5 million among the District Bar Association Dera Ismail Khan and the Tehsil Bar Associations of Draban and Kalachi.
The Governor thanked the Ministry of Law for its cooperation and acknowledged the role of Member of National Assembly Sardar Fatehullah Khan Miankhel in facilitating the grants. He said that lawyers of the area have rendered historic services for the rule of law and dispensation of justice in the country and the province, and noted that several renowned judges have hailed from this district.
Governor Faisal Karim Kundi said that unity, peace, brotherhood and collective efforts are essential for resolving public issues in the region. On the occasion, he presented a grant cheque of Rs. 2.5 million to District Bar Dera President Qaiser Khan Miankhel, Rs. 1 million to Kalachi Bar President Yasir Khan, and Rs. 1 million to Draban Bar President Gul Rehman Khan. He also announced that grant cheques would soon be provided to the Parwa and Paharpur Bar Associations.
Speaking on the occasion, District Bar Association Dera President and PPP Divisional President Qaiser Khan Miankhel said that Governor Faisal Karim Kundi had previously played an important role in resolving issues of the High Court Bar and District Bar. He expressed gratitude to the Governor for providing financial assistance to both the district and tehsil bars, adding that as this is the Governor’s home district, the legal fraternity is confident he will continue to address their issues.
The ceremony was attended by KP Bar Council Member Sardar Hashmat Rehman Saduzai Advocate, District Bar General Secretary Sardar Adnan Saeed Saduzai, Finance Secretary Sheikh Mahmoodul Hassan Advocate, Habibullah Khan Advocate, PPP District General Secretary Abid Awan Advocate, People’s Lawyers Forum leader Shah Fahad Ansari Advocate, and Sardar Hizbullah Khan Gandapur Advocate, among others.
