M Rauf Elected President of Tehsil Press Club Takht-e-Nusrati for Fourth Term

KARAK: The annual elections of the Tehsil Press Club Takht-e-Nusrati for the term 2025–26 were successfully concluded, resulting in the election of senior journalist Muhammad Rauf as President for the fourth consecutive term, while Lal Saddique Khabaryal was re-elected as General Secretary.

The elections were held in accordance with the Press Club constitution through a show of hands, following a unanimous decision of the General Body. The election process was supervised by the Election Committee comprising Convener Shad Nawaz Khattak, Secretary Election Committee Muhammad Saleem, and Election Organizer Malik Akhtar Nawaz Advocate, President District Bar Association Karak. Muhammad Naeem Advocate, President Tehsil Bar Association Takht-e-Nusrati, attended as an observer.

Other observers included Anwar Khattak, Assistant Director and Public Relations Officer to the Finance Minister and Patron of Tehsil Press Club, Haji Rehman, Tehsil Speaker Takht-e-Nusrati, Hazaratullah alias Tokli Khan, and other respected elders.

During the proceedings, Manwar Khan proposed the name of Muhammad Rauf for the office of President, which was unanimously approved by the members present. For the post of General Secretary, Umar Hayat proposed the name of Lal Saddique Khabaryal, who was also elected unanimously for a second consecutive term.

Manwar Khan was elected Vice President for the fourth term. For the post of Finance Secretary, Aamir Sayab proposed Umar Hayat, who was unanimously elected for the fourth time. President Muhammad Rauf proposed Qaiser Haleem for the position of Secretary Information & Press, which was approved unanimously.

Subsequently, Ahmed Ullah was elected Joint Secretary on the proposal of Lal Saddique, while Aamir Sayab was elected Office Secretary, both unopposed through a show of hands. Following the completion of the process, the Election Committee issued an official notification announcing the newly elected cabinet.

On the occasion, the newly elected office-bearers thanked the General Body for their confidence and reaffirmed their commitment to upholding journalistic values, unity, freedom of the press, and to actively working for the resolution of issues faced by the journalist community.
