PESHAWAR: Junior squash player Mehwish Ali met Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi at Governor House Peshawar, where matters related to the promotion of sports in the province—particularly squash—were discussed.
During the meeting, Governor Faisal Karim Kundi said that Pakistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have a proud and well-recognized history in the game of squash. He noted that the province’s youth continue to possess immense talent and stressed the need for encouragement and institutional support to help them excel at national and international levels.
The Governor termed talented female squash players as ambassadors of the province who play a vital role in projecting a positive and bright image of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He assured Mehwish Ali of his full cooperation for the development of squash and the welfare of players.
Mehwish Ali paid tribute to Governor Faisal Karim Kundi for organizing the first-ever Governor Sports Awards, calling the initiative highly commendable for promoting sports culture in the province and motivating athletes to perform better.
