IRH Abu Dhabi Representative Visits NCEG to Explore Collaboration in Mines and Minerals Sector

Laboratory Manager at International Resource Holding (IRH), Abu Dhabi Mr. Stephen John Southern visited the National Centre of Excellence in Geology (NCEG) Peshawar today to assess the Centre’s laboratory capabilities and explore avenues for international collaboration in the mines and minerals industry. According to NCEG press release, IRH is a global company engaged in the sustainable and ethical extraction and processing of mineral resources. With a strong commitment to minimizing environmental impact while maximizing stakeholder value, IRH is actively seeking technical partners to enhance its operations.
During his visit, Mr. Stephen toured NCEG’s state-of-the-art laboratory facilities and held a detailed meeting with Prof. Dr. Liaqat Ali, Director NCEG. The meeting focused on potential academic–industry linkages, collaborative research, and the commercial utilization of NCEG’s laboratory services for mineral exploration and processing.
Mr. Stephen expressed appreciation for NCEG’s highly qualified faculty, skilled technical staff, and well-equipped laboratories, acknowledging the Centre’s strong capacity to support the mining sector at both national and international levels. He highlighted the promising prospects of partnership, particularly in geochemical analysis, mineral characterization, and advanced geological investigations.
It is anticipated that future collaboration between IRH and NCEG will strengthen international engagement, contribute to the commercialization initiatives of NCEG, and attract foreign investment to Pakistan’s mines and minerals sector. This partnership is expected to play a pivotal role in enhancing the Centre’s financial sustainability while contributing to the growth of Pakistan’s mineral industry.
