Outstanding Annual Performance of Rescue 1122, Timely Response to 3,642 Emergencies in 2025

Bajaur: Rescue 1122 Bajaur demonstrated its professional efficiency during the year 2025 by providing timely and effective response to a total of 3,642 local emergencies. While releasing the annual performance report, District Emergency Officer Amjad Khan stated that during the year, the Rescue 1122 control room received a total of 127,516 calls. Among these, 3,642 were emergency calls, 39,866 were information and dropped calls, while 84,008 were recorded as non-emergency or unnecessary calls.
According to the report, the emergency calls received in 2025 included 285 road traffic accidents, 2,916 medical emergencies, 19 drowning incidents, 115 cases of fights and firearm injuries, 5 building collapse incidents, 18 bomb blast incidents, 200 miscellaneous emergencies, and 84 fire incidents. Rescue 1122 personnel provided on-the-spot medical assistance to patients with minor injuries, while seriously injured individuals were shifted to various hospitals after timely first aid. However, 27 people were reported to have died on the spot in different incidents.
The District Emergency Officer stated that motorcycle-related negligence remained the leading cause of road traffic accidents. He added that timely response to fire incidents helped save properties and forests worth millions of rupees from destruction. The average response time to emergencies across the district remained 7 minutes, reflecting the department’s effective and exemplary performance.
He further informed that under the Patient Referral Services, during the year 2024, a total of 1,242 patients were shifted free of cost from various hospitals across the district to other medical facilities for better treatment, under the supervision of Rescue 1122’s trained staff. Similarly, during 2025, more than 6,000 individuals were trained in Basic Life Support and Fire Safety under safety training programs conducted at government and private institutions, educational institutions, and community level across the district.
Speaking on the occasion, District Emergency Officer Amjad Khan said that providing rescue services to citizens in accordance with international standards is the top priority of Rescue 1122, for which its personnel remain ready at all times. He urged the public to use the 1122 helpline only in genuine emergency situations so that timely and effective assistance can be provided to those in real distress.
