PESHAWAR: The Central Secretary General of Pakistan Peoples Party, Muhammad Humayun Khan, stated that Pakistan’s emergence as a nuclear power established strategic balance in the region, a historic achievement rooted in the visionary leadership of former Prime Minister Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and the foresight of national leadership.
In his statement, Muhammad Humayun Khan emphasized that Pakistan’s nuclear capability is not merely a scientific or military accomplishment, but a guarantee of national sovereignty, security, and dignity. He noted that this landmark decision transformed Pakistan into a credible defensive power and ensured stability in a volatile regional environment.
He further stated that despite immense international pressure and challenging circumstances, Zulfikar Ali Bhutto demonstrated extraordinary resolve and strategic foresight by laying the foundation of Pakistan’s nuclear program. His unwavering commitment reflected a deep understanding of the country’s long-term security needs and national honor.
Muhammad Humayun Khan added that Pakistan’s nuclear deterrence has played a vital role in preventing aggression and maintaining peace through strength. A strong defense, he said, remains the cornerstone of sustainable peace in the region.
Reaffirming the party’s commitment, he stated that Pakistan Peoples Party will continue to uphold national security, democratic stability, and the collective interests of the people. He stressed the importance of national unity and solidarity in safeguarding Pakistan’s sovereignty and advancing its development.
