MARDAN : The Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) Talent Hunt for Schools Cricket Tournament concluded with a thrilling final played at the Abdul Wali Khan University Ground. Government Higher Secondary School Gujjar Garhi emerged victorious after defeating Ghazali School Katlang in a one-sided contest. Gujjar Garhi won the toss and chose to bat first, setting an imposing target of 247 runs in the allotted overs. In response, the Ghazali School side was bowled out for 154 runs in 28 overs, handing Gujjar Garhi a comprehensive 93-run victory. Muhammad Farhan delivered an exceptional performance, scoring 54 runs and earning the Man of the Match award. The prize distribution ceremony was graced by Khurshid Ali, Manager Cricket Operations Abbottabad Region and Coordinator of the PCB Talent Hunt Schools Cricket Tournament, as the chief guest. Senior journalists Musarrat Assi and M. Bashir Adil attended as guests of honour. The chief guest presented the winner’s trophy to team captain Jalal Umar and distributed awards among outstanding performers. According to PCB representative Adil Ali Khan, a total of eight schools four government and four private institutions participated in the tournament. He said the initiative aims to promote cricket at the district level and provide a platform for emerging talent. The ground was packed with enthusiastic spectators, who applauded the players’ performances throughout the final match.
