CHARSADDA: On the directives of Deputy Commissioner Charsadda, Dr. Azmatullah Wazir, police and Rescue 1122 contingents presented a guard of honour for newly appointed teachers in a first-of-its-kind initiative in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Charsadda district.

The dignified ceremony was organized by the provincial Education Department to encourage and recognize newly appointed male and female teachers. More than 150 teachers, appointed in Charsadda through an entry test-based recruitment process, attended the event.

Deputy Commissioner Dr. Azmatullah Wazir, Additional Deputy Commissioner Madam Rina, and senior officials from the Education Department were present on the occasion. Addressing the gathering, the Deputy Commissioner stated that, in line with the directives of Chief Minister Sohail Afridi and the Chief Secretary of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, all appointments had been made strictly on 100 percent merit.

He emphasized that the teachers achieved this milestone through hard work, dedication, and competence, adding that the provincial government, district administration, and Education Department fully acknowledge and appreciate their efforts. Dr. Azmatullah Wazir urged the newly appointed teachers to serve with sincerity and commitment for the bright future of Charsadda’s children, noting that quality education is the foundation for national development.

“The responsibility placed on your shoulders is immense,” he said, “and your role in shaping the next generation will directly contribute to the progress of the country.”

Speaking on the occasion, several newly appointed teachers expressed gratitude to the provincial government, stating that many of them belonged to economically disadvantaged backgrounds. They said the transparent and merit-based recruitment process had restored their trust in public institutions and provided them with a dignified opportunity to serve society.

The ceremony concluded with appreciation for the initiative, which participants termed a morale-boosting step and a symbol of respect for the teaching profession.
