Bajaur: The protest that had been ongoing for the past 8 to 9 days over the demand for the construction of Inzari Road came to an end after timely and effective negotiations led by Assistant Commissioner (Headquarters) Khar, Dr. Sadiq Ali, who successfully took local elders into confidence. Following the conclusion of the protest, the road was reopened for all types of vehicular traffic.
According to details, on the special directives of Deputy Commissioner Bajaur, Mr. Shahid Ali, the Assistant Commissioner (HQ) Khar, Dr. Sadiq Ali, summoned the elders and notables of Inzari to his office, where a detailed discussion was held on issues related to the road’s construction and public concerns. On this occasion, the Assistant Commissioner assured the elders that the relevant departments had already been approached, including the Deputy Commissioner Mohmand, and that practical work on the project would commence soon.
The local residents maintained that the road is part of the Annual Development Programme (ADP) and holds great importance for the area as it connects with Mohmand Road. However, while the Mohmand section of the road has already been completed, the portion falling within Bajaur remains pending, causing prolonged transportation difficulties for the residents of Inzari.
As a result of successful negotiations between the district administration and local elders, the protesters announced the end of the protest and the reopening of the road for traffic. The local populace appreciated the positive role, sincere efforts, and practical steps taken by the district administration to resolve public issues, and expressed hope that the construction work on the road would begin at the earliest.
