PSL Inter-School Scrabble & Chess Championship Held in Peshawar

Peshawar: Under the auspices of PSL, the Inter-School Scrabble Words Cup and Chess Championship was successfully and magnificently organized at Cantt Public Girls High School & College, Peshawar Cantt. More than 150 boys and girls from various renowned educational institutions of Peshawar and its surrounding areas actively participated in the prestigious event.
The championship featured two of the world’s most engaging, intellectually stimulating, and high-level educational games — Scrabble and Chess. The primary objective of these competitions was to promote intellectual growth, analytical skills, decision-making ability, and a spirit of healthy competition among students.
The Chief Guest of the event was Mr. Chaudhry Babar Hussain, CEO Cantt Board Peshawar. Addressing the participants, he emphasized that along with academic education, the promotion of mind sports is the need of the hour. He stated that such competitions play a vital role in nurturing critical thinking, patience, discipline, and leadership qualities among students. He further assured that Cantt Board Peshawar would continue to fully support such positive initiatives aimed at the intellectual and educational development of the younger generation.
During the program, students presented various attractive and purpose-driven tableaus, which were highly appreciated by the participants and distinguished guests. These performances reflected the students’ creativity, confidence, and expressive abilities.
Mr. Muhammad Waqar played a significant role in the successful organization of the championship. He is serving as
Rating Development Officer, Chess Federation of Pakistan,
Coordinator, KP Scrabble Association,
and Vice President, KP Chess Association.


His efforts were instrumental in ensuring the smooth conduct, discipline, and transparency of the competitions.
At the conclusion of the event, the Chief Guest Mr. Chaudhry Babar Hussain distributed medals and certificates of appreciation among the successful players. He also commended the efforts of all participants, teachers, organizers, and supporters, stressing the importance of organizing more such intellectual and academic competitions in the future.
The championship proved to be a memorable and enriching experience for the students and was widely regarded as a positive and commendable step toward the promotion of mind sports in the region.
