Public Information Officers (PIOs) of various government departments, including the DEO (Male) Karak, DPO Kohat, and DHO Orakzai, appeared before the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Commission over complaints regarding the non-provision of information. Information Commissioners Muhammad Irshad and Arshad Ahmed heard the complaints filed by citizens.
During the hearing, the DPO Kohat, DEO Karak, and the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Bannu provided the requested information to the applicants. A resident of Bannu, Nisar Khan, had sought details of an inquiry from BISE Bannu, which were provided by the board’s Public Information Officer at the time of the hearing.
Similarly, the DPO Kohat and DEO Karak furnished information in different cases. A resident of Karak, Intikhab Alam, had requested the seniority list of SST teachers, while Umar Sardar had sought a copy of an inquiry report; both were provided with the requested information.
In other cases, the DHO Orakzai sought five days’ time to provide the information. In these matters, a citizen named Mehboobullah had requested copies of educational documents of candidates recruited to the post of Radiology Technician, while Irfanullah had sought detailed information regarding the final merit list for the post of Dental Technician and the educational credentials of the appointed candidates.
In addition, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Commission directed the Urban Development Authority Kohat to provide the required information within one week.
