SWAT: A distinguished delegation of elders from the Qaumi Jirga, Tehsil BariKot, called on former Director Information Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Noorul Hadi, at his residence in Barikot, Swat, and formally invited him to join the jirga. Noorul Hadi graciously accepted the invitation and extended his heartfelt gratitude to the delegation. The delegation comprised renowned social leaders and respected personalities, including Sadiq Ali Khan, Wahid Karam Khan, Zahir Shah Khan, Bakhtiar Khan, Ubaid Bacha, Engineer Sharafat Ali Khan, Mumtaz Khan, Arif Bacha, Sajjad Khan, Abdul Razzaq Khan, and Amanullah Khan. They stated that Noorul Hadi’s inclusion is not only a positive development for the jirga but also for the entire region. They expressed hope that his presence would further enhance the effectiveness, influence, and quality of the jirga’s collective decisions. Over the past two decades, the Qaumi Jirga of Tehsil Bari Kot has earned a distinguished and respectable position in Malakand Division through its services. During this time, the jirga successfully resolved hundreds of personal enmities and family disputes through dialogue and reconciliation, turned longstanding rivals into friends, and played a pivotal role in addressing local issues while significantly contributing to the establishment of peace and stability in the region. The jirga consists of honest elders from various tribes (khels), conscious social figures, and experienced mediators, who remain actively engaged in ensuring lasting peace in the area through fair and timely decisions.
