Review of Secretariat Appointments Inevitable, Institutional Justice Must Be Ensured: Zafar Khan Yousafzai

Staff Reporter
Peshawar: Chairman of the All Pakistan Secretariat Coordination Council, Zafar Khan Yousafzai, said in a statement that the current system of appointments of officers and staff in the secretariat has disturbed institutional balance, adversely affecting administrative transparency and efficiency.

He said that many officers and officials have been posted in the secretariat for years under the deputation policy, despite the availability of regular secretariat officers and staff. This situation, he added, has undermined institutional justice and created obstacles in administrative affairs.

Zafar Khan Yousafzai stated that the All Pakistan Secretariat Coordination Council is closely monitoring the matter and demands that all decisions be made strictly in accordance with rules and regulations. He described the recent step taken by Education Minister Arshad Ayub Khan as courageous and principled, terming it a positive example for safeguarding the future of the nation’s children.

He demanded that priority be given to regular secretariat officers and staff, and that officers posted on deputation be sent back to their respective parent departments to ensure institutional justice, balance, and overall efficiency.

The chairman of the All Pakistan Secretariat Coordination Council emphasized the need for immediate and decisive action on the issue, warning that further delay would aggravate institutional problems, for which the concerned authorities would be responsible.
