RMI Hosts Annual Symposium on Promoting Clinical Research in Pakistan

Peshawar: Rehman Medical Institute (RMI), through its Clinical Trials Unit (CTU), organized an Annual Symposium aimed at strengthening clinical research in Pakistan. The symposium was attended by healthcare professionals, researchers, representatives of the Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP), and members of the pharmaceutical industry from across the country.
The symposium featured detailed discussions on promoting high-quality clinical trials, enhancing research capacity, improving regulatory processes, and ensuring patient rights and safety. Speakers emphasized that transparent, ethical, and internationally compliant research practices would help build global confidence in Pakistan’s clinical research sector.
Participants shared their experiences and exchanged views, highlighting the importance of collaboration to improve research standards. On the occasion, CEO RMI, Mr. Shafique ur Rehman, Director Research & CTU, Professor Dr. Naila Irum Hadi, and experts from various national and international institutions addressed the gathering.
Addressing the symposium, Provincial Health Minister Khaleeq-ur-Rehman stated that clinical research is vital for modern treatment and the development of an effective healthcare system. He added that such academic activities play a key role in promoting medical research and guiding young researchers.
The objective of the symposium was to improve the quality of clinical research in Pakistan, strengthen national research capacity, and promote clinical trials in line with international standards.
At the conclusion of the event, honorary shields were presented to the participants.
