PPC Panthers, Qabail, Markhor and Stars qualify for semi-finals
Peshawar: The RMI Media Cricket League has entered its final stage, where after thrilling quarter-final contests, PPC Panthers, Qabail, Markhor and Stars have secured their spots in the semi-finals.
In the first quarter-final played yesterday at the Gymkhana Cricket Ground, PPC Shaheen batted first and scored 73 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in the allotted overs, with Amjad Khan standing out with 47 runs. In reply, PPC Panthers comfortably chased down the target, while Arsalan Tikkar was declared Man of the Match for his outstanding all-round performance.
In the second quarter-final, PPC Bulls, batting first, posted 48 runs for 8 wickets, with Nasir contributing 14 runs. Team Qabail easily achieved the target, and Kamran Ali was named Man of the Match for his excellent performance.
In the third quarter-final, PPC Markhor set a formidable total of 120 runs in 10 overs, with Yasir Ali scoring 39. In response, PPC Cheeta fell short of the target, handing Markhor a 38-run victory. Arshad Yousafzai was awarded Man of the Match for his impressive bowling and batting display.
The final quarter-final brought the biggest upset of the tournament as PPC Stars defeated Zalmi to qualify for the semi-finals. PPC Zalmi batted first and posted 121 runs, with Zawar scoring 39. In reply, Stars chased down the target with ease, winning by 8 wickets. Zeeshan Liaqat played a brilliant innings of 53 runs and was named Man of the Match.
