Dera Ismail Khan: Secretary RTA Dera Division, Shaukat Iqbal, visited the TMA “C” Class General Bus Stand in Tehsil Paharpur and noted the absence of essential facilities such as washrooms, waiting rooms, retiring rooms for drivers, a mosque, electricity, and water.

The TMO Paharpur was directed to provide all these facilities within one week, failing which the bus stand’s license will be canceled.

During the visit, a chaotic rush of Datsun and Chingchi rickshaws was observed on main city routes. All Datsuns were ordered to stop only at the bus stand, while Chingchi rickshaws must operate from designated open spaces. Traffic police and TMA superintendents were instructed to strictly implement these measures.

Handcarts and shop encroachments on city chowk roads were also addressed. A letter was issued to the Assistant Commissioner Paharpur to clear the area to ensure smooth traffic flow.

Additionally, Datsun drivers charging excessive fares or not seating students properly were fined, and assurances were obtained from all drivers to follow regulations. Coach drivers at the bus stand were also instructed not to drop passengers before their designated destinations.

The RTA emphasized that these steps aim to ensure orderly transport, passenger safety, and smooth traffic flow in Paharpur city.
