PESHAWAR: Special Assistant to the Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for Communication and Works, Muhammad Sohail Afridi, visited the NLC Warehouse in Jamrud, District Khyber, where he reviewed the arrangements made by the provincial government for Afghan refugees. On this occasion, the Assistant Commissioner Jamrud, Local Government TMAs, and officials of the Communication and Works Department were also present.
The Special Assistant said that the provincial government will ensure the provision of food, residential tents, and basic necessities of life for Afghan brothers and sisters under all circumstances. Under his directives, a residential camp has been established on an emergency basis in Jamrud, where temporary accommodation is being provided to Afghan refugees.
During his visit to the camp, Sohail Afridi instructed the administration that there should be no compromise on the provision of cleanliness, water, electricity, and other basic facilities, and immediate measures must be taken in this regard.
On the occasion, Sohail Afridi was also given a detailed briefing about the damages caused by the recent floods in Jamrud, the condition of affected houses and roads, and the restoration of blocked routes. He said that the rehabilitation of flood victims is the top priority of the government, and all available resources will be utilized to resolve public hardships.
Special Assistant Muhammad Sohail Afridi issued clear instructions to the officials that no delay will be tolerated in the rehabilitation works, and all projects must be completed on an emergency basis. He assured the public that the provincial government stands shoulder to shoulder with the people and Afghan refugees in this difficult time.
