Secretary HED KP visits KMU to review Centralized Admissions Process

PESHAWAR: Secretary Higher Education Department (HED), Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Muhammad Israr visited Khyber Medical University (KMU) to review and witness the centralized admission process for private medical and dental colleges of the province.
Upon his arrival at KMU, the Secretary was warmly received by Excective Director Higher Education Commission Islamabad and Vice Chancellor KMU, Professor Dr. Zia ul Haq, along with Director Academics & Admissions, Prof. Dr. Zille Huma, and Registrar Mr. Inam Ullah Wazir. The Secretary was briefed in detail about the centralized, transparent and merit-based admission mechanism being implemented by KMU for private medical and dental institutions across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Expressing his satisfaction over the arrangements, Muhammad Israr appreciated KMU’s efforts in ensuring transparency and strict adherence to merit. He stated, “Khyber Medical University has set a commendable example by conducting a fully transparent, merit-based admission process. The successful organization of MDCAT for around 40,000 students across the province reflects KMU’s strong institutional capacity and integrity.”
He further remarked that KMU has earned the trust of students, parents and stakeholders through its consistent performance. “KMU has emerged as a beacon of light and trust in medical education. I am confident that the university will continue to uphold these standards, and the provincial government will extend full support to safeguard the future of medical youth in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa,” he added.
Speaking on the occasion, Vice Chancellor KMU Prof. Dr. Zia ul Haq thanked the Secretary HED for his visit and encouragement, stating, “KMU remains fully committed to transparency, merit and fairness in all academic processes. The centralized admission system is designed to ensure justice for deserving candidates and to strengthen public confidence in medical education across the province.” He further emphasized that KMU considers it a responsibility to protect the interests of students and parents.
“Our successful conduct of MDCAT and centralized admissions is a collective effort of the KMU team, aimed at providing equal opportunities to students and supporting the provincial government’s vision for quality medical education,” the Vice Chancellor said. The visit concluded with mutual reaffirmation of continued collaboration between the Higher Education Department and KMU to further strengthen governance, transparency and excellence in medical education in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
