After a gap of 14 years, The Sindh Police Games made a powerful comeback in 2025, the last edition was held in 2011 and this long-awaited revival was formally inaugurated by Sindh Home Minister Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjar, who described the event as a symbol of renewed unity, strength and commitment within the police force.
This year’s Games bring together 12 contingents competing in 18 diverse sporting disciplines. Football, boxing, tug of war, judo, shooting, half marathon and several other sports are being contested across 13 different venues in Karachi, transforming the city into a vibrant centre of athletic activity. The dynamic atmosphere reflects the scale and spirit of an event that has returned stronger than ever.
More than 1600 male and female police officials are participating. Teams from various ranges, districts and specialized wings of the Sindh Police are battling it out, displaying exceptional stamina, discipline and teamwork. The Games highlight not only their professional resilience but also their athletic prowess. The revival carries a powerful message: the Sindh Police are not only guardians of public safety but also champions of fitness. These officers continue to defend the province with courage and at the same time excel in sports with passion and determination. Their performance reflects a balanced identity of warriors in uniform who embody both duty and sportsmanship.
The initiative to relaunch the Games was taken by the Inspector General of Sindh Police Ghulam Nabi Memon, while DIG Pir Muhammad Shah Chairman of the Sindh Police Sports Board, played a pivotal role in planning, supervising and executing the event. The closing ceremony was equally energetic with the Sindh Home Minister once again attending as the chief guest. He presented trophies and medals to the winning teams and outstanding performers, appreciating their dedication and contributions.
With electrifying contests, passionate participation, the Sindh Police Games 2025 have not only revived a tradition but have also reaffirmed the force’s commitment to health, discipline and excellence. The event stands as a celebration of the unwavering spirit of the Sindh Police strong in duty, stronger in sportsmanship.
