CHAKDARA: Former Emir of Jamaat-e-Islami and Senator Siraj-ul-Haq has said that in the current challenging global situation, the Muslim Ummah must set aside differences and demonstrate unity to effectively respond to emerging crises. He stated that developments in Gaza and other parts of the Muslim world require a collective strategy and a strong voice in support of oppressed Muslims.

He expressed these views while addressing a special ceremony held at the Aghosh Center, established for orphan children. During the event, Eid-ul-Fitr gifts and Eidi were distributed among 100 orphan children under the care of the center. The children also participated in various co-curricular activities and received appreciation from attendees.

The ceremony was also addressed by Fazal Mahmood, Dr. Bashir Muhammad, and Saeedullah.

Siraj-ul-Haq said that caring for orphan children is both a religious and social responsibility. He noted that millions of orphan children exist in Pakistan, and although their welfare is primarily the responsibility of the state, the government is unfortunately unable to fully discharge this duty. He appreciated the welfare services of Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan, which is operating 23 Aghosh Homes across the country, providing accommodation, education, and training to orphan children. He added that under its orphan care programs, the organization is currently supporting more than 33,000 orphan children, while the estimated number of orphans in Pakistan is around 4.6 million.

Speaking on regional and international issues, he said that the problems in Afghanistan can be resolved through dialogue. He remarked that the world appears divided into blocs, and emphasized that Muslim leaders must take a clear and effective stance on the situation in Gaza.

He further shared that during a recent visit to Afghanistan, he met with Afghan leadership, where it was agreed that misunderstandings and disputes between Pakistan and Afghanistan should be resolved through negotiations. He also stressed the need to reduce tensions and achieve an immediate ceasefire.

At the conclusion of the event, Siraj-ul-Haq distributed Eid gifts among the orphan children and encouraged them.
