Dera Ismail Khan: Around six Khawarij terrorists armed with heavy weapons launched a deadly attack on the Police Training Center in Dera Ismail Khan, during which a suicide bomber drove a truck laden with explosives into the premises.
Upon receiving information about the attack, Commissioner Dera Division Zafar-ul-Salam Khattak, Station Commander Brigadier Muhammad Abu Bakr, RPO Syed Ashfaq Anwar, DPO Sajjad Ahmed Sahibzada, SP City Ali Hamza Butt, DSP City Hafiz Muhammad Adnan, SP CTD, and personnel of the police, Al-Baraq Force, and Pakistan Army immediately launched a joint operation.
An emergency was declared at the DHQ Hospital Dera to ensure prompt medical treatment for the injured and martyred. The Commissioner directed the presence of all doctors and paramedics, while District Emergency Officer 1122 ensured continuous ambulance services. The control room at the Commissioner’s Office closely monitored all developments throughout the night.
The cleanup operation continued until 5 a.m. During the attack, terrorists also entered the nearby NADRA office, setting vehicles and parts of the building on fire. All six terrorists belonging to Fitna-ul-Khawarij were killed in the operation, and a large cache of modern weapons, including suicide jackets and hand grenades, was recovered from their possession.
Seven officials — Constable Mudassar, Recruit Jalal, Recruit Daniyal, Recruit Anwar, Recruit Farmanullah, Head Constable Shafqat Mahmood, and Langri Ismatullah — were martyred, while 13 others were injured, including Constable Saddam, Driver APC Saeedur Rehman, Recruit Naseer Muhammad, Recruit Muhammad Shoaib, Recruit Hazrat Ali, Recruit Muhammad Saleem, Recruit Yaqoob, Recruit Yasir, Constable Abdullah, Recruit Mudassar, Recruit Ismat Abbas, Recruit Amanullah, and Ijaz Ahmed.
The injured were promptly shifted to DHQ Hospital Dera, where Commissioner Zafar-ul-Salam Khattak, Brigadier Muhammad Abu Bakr, and RPO Syed Ashfaq Anwar visited them to review medical arrangements.
Following the attack, security was placed on high alert across Dera Ismail Khan. Later, the funeral prayers of the martyrs were held at Ijaz Shaheed Police Lines Dera with full official honors. The ceremony was attended by Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sardar Ali Amin Gandapur, Chief Secretary Syed Shahab Ali Shah, IG Police Zulfiqar Hameed, Station Commander Brigadier Muhammad Abu Bakr, RPO Syed Ashfaq Anwar, DPO Sajjad Ahmed Sahibzada, former MPA Abdul Halim Kasuria, and other political, social, and civil representatives. A police contingent presented a salute to the martyrs.
