Sports Festival for Zamong Corps Children to Begin on January 21

PESHAWAR: A sports festival for orphaned and destitute children of Zamong Corps, under the auspices of the Directorate General of Sports Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, will be held from January 21 at the Model Institute for State Children, Zamong Corps, Charsadda Road.

The festival will feature competitions in cricket, football, badminton, kabaddi, basketball, tug of war, athletics, volleyball, and musical chairs. This was stated by Director General Sports Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Tashfeen Haider, while addressing a preparatory meeting. Director Operations Jamshed Baloch, Director Model Institute Sadaqatullah, and other officials were also present.

DG Sports Tashfeen Haider said that the festival will commence on January 21 and continue until January 24. The opening ceremony will be inaugurated by the Advisor to the Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Sports, Taj Muhammad Khan Tarandhong, while the closing ceremony will be graced by the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Muhammad Sohail Afridi, as chief guest.

He added that boys and girls from Zamong Corps Peshawar, Zamong Corps Abbottabad, Swat Campus, DI Khan Campus, Akhpal Corps Swat, SOS, and other orphan care institutions will participate in the competitions.

DG Sports said the objective of organizing the festival is to engage children in healthy activities and provide them with a platform to showcase their talents, promote confidence, and encourage positive social development.
