One Name Echoes Across Pakistan’s Provinces -Shahab Ali Shah
Times Report
PESHAWAR:According to a recent survey report, among all four provincial chief secretaries, Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Shahab Ali Shah has once again taken the lead — ranking number one in public service, discipline, and administrative performance. In contrast, the governments of Sindh and Punjab are busy blaming each other for the lack of development instead of showing real results. Neither of their chief secretaries has released any progress report to the public or the media so far. Meanwhile, Balochistan’s chief secretary seems to have vanished from the public eye altogether, while the people there continue to suffer under mounting problems. In such circumstances, if there’s one senior official in Pakistan who truly serves the people — it’s none other than:
👉 Chief Secretary Shahab Ali Shah of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.. His popularity on social media is soaring.
A Karachi citizen recently commented:
> “If the government appoints Shahab Ali Shah as Chief Secretary Sindh even for a single year, the people of Sindh will finally be free from misery!”
Under Shahab Ali Shah’s strict yet fair policies, the entire provincial administration has been transformed.
Today, commissioners and deputy commissioners in KP are no longer found lounging in air-conditioned offices — instead, they’re out in the field, among the public, sharing their real-time locations and progress reports directly with the Chief Secretary and the citizens. Shahab Ali Shah himself often makes surprise calls to officers, instructing them:
> “Go to the site immediately, resolve the public issue, and don’t return until the job is done!”
The result?
Officers who once preferred the comfort of heated offices are now visible in markets, hospitals, roads, and public offices — actively engaging with the people.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s bureaucracy, Shahab Ali Shah has sparked nothing short of a revolution.
